The Barn Collective

I miss Illinois barns. In Oklahoma, ranchers often provide 'leaning sheds' as shelter for their horses.

This is an abandoned barn. Not sure what it was used for, but my guess is equipment and hay.

  1. ...as an owner I would like the first one best, but from an eye appeal standpoint the second one is the winner for me. Betty, they look like barns to me and I thank you for sharing.

  2. Barns are so 'vintage' and filled with 'lore' ~ I agree with Tom ~ the first one is much simpler but low maintenance and great for the horses ~

  3. Nice country photos - barns definitely seem somehow special, maybe they make us think of a bygone age.

  4. It seems people with horses have a lean-to in a pasture for shelter and people with cows will have a more traditional barn.

  6. We see a lot of those sheds here in Mississippi, too. That old barn in the woods is a great thing to find!
