The Barn Collective

Saw this beauty on an early morning drive looking for birds.

A little farther down the road, I saw this barn. I believe it contains equipment and hay.

I don't think this is a barn. I believe it will be a garage one day. But it looks to have been in this condition for quite some time. Notice the priority - a door. Guess they will need some way to get inside to finish it up. :)

  1. the first barn is a beauty, but one blow of wind, in the right direction and it may be gone. i wonder why we are attracted to these barns??

the last image is funny. perhaps someone had doors on sale and they didn't want to pay full price. but installing it on old rusted steel??

  2. ...thanks for taking a picture of the first one, it may not be long for this world. The second one looks like one addition after the other. On the right end, it looks like two sawdust bins, I wonder if it had been a saw mill. The garage\barn os being build on the pay as you go method. Thanks Betty for stopping by, please come again.

    1. I see a lot of those bins around here. I believe they hold cattle feed. Especially since that barn is on a huge cattle ranch.

  3. Sad when barns begin to look like pieces of wood slapped together. Good stories to tell I hope

  4. Wonderful barn in the first shot...and a practical useful one if not so photogenic, in the second.

  5. There is something uniquely sad about a barn in disrepair. This one looks terminal!

  6. I love the old weathered barn best, like your first photo. It's so important to get the pics while these old barns are standing....they won't always be there! Hugs!
