The hummingbirds have been humming. This little guy is always on guard. Ready to ward off intruders and there are several.
Tried to get a shot of this scissor-tailed flycatcher, but all I got was this tail shot.
This Bewick's Wren has a nest in the end of the pipe fence.
A couple of days ago, I had a visit from a couple of buzzards. They landed about 6 feet from my kitchen window and proceeded to glare at each other.
This one briefly glared at me.
Then one attacked the other. Not sure if they were fighting or getting it on. Whatever it was didn't last long before they took off.

Rain kept me stuck inside for a couple of days. This barn looks good surrounded by all the green. Rain is sometimes a pain, but it sure does bring out nature's beauty.

ReplyDeleteGreat variety of birds. The Scissor-tailed Flycatcher looks very grand even from that angle.
ReplyDelete...barns around here are beginning to be surrounded by green! My, those buzzards sure are ugly! Thank Betty for stopping by, please come again.
ReplyDeleteThe buzzards are quite formidable.
ReplyDeleteYes the rain does wonders for everything except our outdoor exercise and photo-ops!! Beautiful green. And I love your birds as always....I have been trying for a scissor tail flycatcher and also for a swallow-tailed kite for so long I'd probably die of shock if I ever got one... flight shots are not my forte' ... and neither of these guys don't light very often!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, especially the Buzzards!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little female hummer.
ReplyDeleteI like the long long barn too

I actually love the shot of the scissor-tail...one rarely gets to see that angle in photos. It gives you another perspective. Loved the other birds as well, and your interesting barn! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLove the scissor-tailed flycatcher. I have seen it once from a distance. And through a bus window, no chance for shots then :( Love yorus.
