I need to get out and try to find more barns. This one is on a hill overlooking the highway.
This isn't a barn, but I suspect there once was one nearby. The cows are enjoying a little shade under the trees. These Round bails will soon be heading for someone's barn somewhere.
...I see lots of silos standing alone without a barn. But silos are also on the decline, silage bunkers are the normal on large farms these days. Amish are about the only ones using silos anymore.
Unless I'm mistaken it looks like you have the same agricultural problems as we do Betty. Just grass grown to feed animals for slaughter and burgers, endless field of monoculture grown for winter feed and no room or desire for small birds.

ReplyDeleteThat last shot is my favourite.

ReplyDeleteThis is ranch country Oklahoma. The only fields I see are hay fields. All the rest have cattle and horses.
DeletePretty scene of the hayfield!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
Just love that last shot, it's framed beautifully.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
