Wild Bird Wednesday

I believe this is a Painted Bunting. I'm not sure if this is a juvenile or a female. If you make the picture larger, it looks like a little blue peeking through on the side of its head. Any ideas?

    1. Looked it up on Google and it does look remarkably like a female/immature Painted Bunting. The males are quite spectacular.

  8. It's a great shot. I last saw this bird well over thirty years ago so I wouldn't even want to guess whether it's a female or a juvenile.
