Custer State Park

July 3, 2017

After Crazy Horse, we decided to take a drive to Custer, SD. Nice little town surrounded by mountains and trees.

The old courthouse is now a museum.

A teepee, or is it tipi, outside of town.

Beautiful day.

At the entrance to Custer State Park, we crossed cattle guards. Inside we saw this buffalo off the side of the road, but he wouldn't turn around. The story of my life!

Pronghorn Antelope

I almost gave up seeing buffalo when we saw this guy approaching from the left side of the road. He was walking fast, as if on a mission. DC stopped the truck and I got out on the passenger side and took pictures from my perch on the running board.

He made his displeasure known by rudely snorting. I was ready to hop back in the truck if he started to cross the road. Fortunately, he hurried on his way.

By the time we drove back to Hill City, it was raining.

Time for some dinner and relaxing on the bench to watch the people walk by.
