This week's assignment: Starts with J, Favorite, and Junk.
Starts with J: On a recent trip to Oklahoma City, while waiting for the horse races to begin, we had lunch at a restaurant located inside Remington Park. There were JUGS on the tables. Sadly, the JUGS were empty.
Favorite: I do enjoy going to the races. It's one of my favorite things to do. This JOCKEY is riding a horse I placed a massive $2 bet on. Sadly, he didn't win.
This is but one of many JOCKEY statutes scattered around the paddock at Remington Park.
Junk: This is a JUNKY old truck hanging over the entrance to a store called JUNK Stars in Tishomingo, OK. The store is owned by Dorothy Shelton, Blake's mother.
Just Because: This slot machine gives one the opportunity to match the letter J. I didn't play, but I did admire the colors.
And Finally: This statute of JESUS is located across the street from the Oklahoma City Bombing Museum. Sad.
Linking to The Weekend Roundup
...oh shoot, the 'J'ugs were only for decoration.
ReplyDelete...'J'ockey is a good 'J."
...I love the have that 'J'unk Star in my drive.
...I'll pass on the slot machines.
...that domestic terrorism is SAD!
Thanks for stopping by Betty, enjoy your weekend.
hose jugs look like 64 oz. beer growlers. Yes, it was a shame they were empty :) I enjoy seeing the jockey on their ride for the day - the rider and animal work as one on the track and race...that truck is not Junk in my opinion! Slot machines look cool, almost artistic. The constant din of a casino means I don't hang around very long...
ReplyDeleteThe Jesus statue has an appropriate expression for that place.
ReplyDeletelovely set of J words....I love the junk truck!
ReplyDeleteJugs and trucks as decoration... wanna watch a horse race!
ReplyDeleteThe bombings all over the world must end soon, can only pray for this.
Have a good new week
Nice day at the races youkm had, Betty. I have never been to horse or dog race. Pig race, I would like to go to these, we have them at county and the Texas State fairs. The Houston Rodeo and Livestock too. We used to race a 1934 Ford in our Lincoln, Nebraska, Modified Stock Car Races on Friday nights. Sometimes we would trailer it to Ames, Iowa. or Grand Island, Ne, for Saturday or Sunday races there. It ran good, it was fast, and we had two sponsors, one for tires and the other for car expenses. It would always win the "B" feature races but we would have to rein it in for the heat races to get it in the B.
ReplyDeleteYour "Junk" truck looks too good to end its life ole sitting. My use would be to Hot Rod it, or restore it back to new. Or even make it a driver again.
