It's been too cold to do anything other than hibernate, which is what we've been doing. Dug into the archives for today's post.
This American Coot was enjoying my brother's pond in Illinois. Really like this first photo. I think he is calling me a bad name.
Linking to Wild Bird Wednesday
Hi Betty. Your American Coot looks somewhat different to our Eurasian Coot, although clearly from the same family. Smart bird!

Hello, cute photos of the Coot. They are neat looking birds. Love the photos and reflections. Enjoy your day and week ahead!
ReplyDeleteA lovely bird that we also find around in this erea :-))
ReplyDeletestrange, this one has a dark mark in the forehead as ours do not have. Have not seen that before. Cool! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen we were visiting my older daughter, a few years ago, Lorelei and her mom stopped and bought some actual food for the coots and ducks on the ponds by my other daughter's condo. This one little coot, would always follow Lorelei and come to where she was. No us, if we went for a walk, but if it heard Lorelei, here it came.
ReplyDeleteOh, these are great shots...I have never gotten a good shot on one.
