The Weekend Roundup - K

I'm back from a wonderful vacation in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado. It was a great time, but sure is nice to be home.

This week's prompts: Starts with K, Favorite, and King Size.

Starts with K: KINGBIRD starts with K. This one stayed around so I could get lots of pictures. He sure is a handsome fella.

Favorite K: Showing a little puppy love with an air KISS.

King Size: This is Buddy. Buddy is a sturdy fella with a KING sized backside.

Just Because: How about another KINGBIRD? This time an Eastern KINGBIRD.

And Finally: Yet another bird. This time a female Belted KINGFISHER.

The Bird D'Pot

Last Wednesday we had a soft rain all day. I didn't think it would be a good day for birds, but I was wrong.

This is the first time I've seen a Western Kingbird enjoying the feeders.

And the first time the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher came this close sto the house.

The Upland Sandpipers are still here and enjoying a nice mud puddle. Bath time.

A damp Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

Even Mr. and Mrs soaking wet Cardinal showed up.

Turned out to be a productive day.

Western Kingbird

I think I have this little guy identified correctly. If not, please let me know. This pic was taken in Oklahoma last spring.

(My identification of Cassin's Kingbird was incorrect. It is a Western Kingbird. Thanks to Nature's Footsteps)
