I took a really bad shot of these ducks yesterday and was helped by David to identify them as Gadwall ducks. So, I went back to find them. They were not in the same pond, but they were in a pond a mile or so on down the road. This time I stopped and took my time.
Gadwall male.
Gadwall female.
I am also happy to report the bluebirds have found my bird feeder. This guy was patiently waiting his turn.

Beautiful bluebird! Do you put mealworms in the feeder?
ReplyDeleteI don't have mealworms, but I have 2 varieties. One is seeds the other is fruit and nuts. Thanks.
DeleteLovely shots. That bluebird is exquisite!
ReplyDeleteKudos to you for persistence and congratulations on the Bluebirds. I have bought live mealworms in the past but someone told me recently you can buy dried mealworms which are accepted by the birds. I have to check that out.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. Such a pretty bluebird!
ReplyDeleteI do like Gadwall - but I have never seen a Bluebird - one day maybe!
