We had some really nice days this past week. This cow was enjoying the warm day.
A few days ago Gus happened to be watching for critters from the living room window and saw this fella running through the neighbors hay field. He started barking his mean bark, so I had to grab my camera to see what he found so offensive. It turned out to be a lone feral hog. This is the first one I've seen here. Sure hope they don't move into our area. They are destructive critters.
On one of my back road rambles, I saw this deer crossing the road in front of me. She stopped to assuage her curiosity so I tried to get a picture. This is the best I could do with all the brush and saplings between us.
I can't pass by this ranch without stopping to take pictures of the horses. They are beautiful. The ranch is owned by our local celebrity who was on a season of The Amazing Race with his brother.

We never see wild boar where we live but they are in the wider countryside. Like you say Betty, they can do a lot of damage in a short time.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful deer! I like the cow and horses, too, and I hope there are no more wild hogs around.
ReplyDeleteGood pics, I always enjoy going for a ride and looking for birds and animals.
ReplyDeleteThe horses are so beautiful and I love that contented cow! I heard wild hogs squealing when I hiked this week....scared me! I hiked a little faster! lol And made a loop so that I didn't have to go back by them. You sure got a good photo! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteAwesome critter shots! Love the horse, cow and handsome deer ~ and the feral hog too but hope they stay away ~

Dimi...
oh these are all so beautiful but the cow, in the hay field is magnificent. the cow is such a warm, beautiful color!!
ReplyDeletethe deer is a close second, one of, if not, my favorite animal!!!
Your shot of the deer is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteOur friend John had a Black Lab named bro. He always rode in a box on the back of John's quad for rides out into the bush. That was no easy feat for such a large dog. When a bear was nearby (it didn't have to be visible), Bro would start a piercing siren call. It was hard to see bears but maybe that was a good thing. - Margy
ReplyDeleteAmazing how deer can turn their neck like that...
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful!
It is not hard to understand why you stop to look at the horses. They are quite magnificent.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of all the critters. The deer, the cow and the horse are looking right at you as you take their photo. :)
ReplyDelete...I love that first one!
ReplyDeleteWonderful critters! Good job!
ReplyDelete(ツ) from Cottage Country Ontario , ON, Canada!
I would not want the feral hogs either...that horse in the foreground looks heavy with child to me...but wonder if it is just the way it is standing there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteThe horses are beautiful.... I hope you don’t get any more feral hogs, they really tear stuff up. There is a real problem with them here in Florida.
