A Chair and a Tree

I love these old shell chairs. They were sturdy and still comfortable, especially with a cushion tossed in the seat. Sadly, this one has rusted so much it is rickety and unsafe, prone to falling backward. Thus it is propped against the tree.

Sunday isn't a day of rest when there is work to be done. This tree was cut down and will be used for fire wood. A rancher's work is never done.

  1. That chair does look comfortable, what a pity it's so rusted.
That's a huge tree to cut down, but I'm sure you'll have plenty of firewood for the winter.
    Thanks for your visit Betty.

  2. ...Betty, that chair design has been so popular that they are making new ones in that style. Enjoy this Advent season. Thanks for stopping by.

    1. I actually drove by an outside market selling them last week. I may have to ask for one for Christmas.

  3. I remember the old shell chair, they were comfy and stackable too if I remember rightly, very handy. Oh gosh that looks like quite a job, it's no small tree ☺ I do agree about the no rest on Sunday, as much as I plan for a quiet one, it hardly ever happens!

  4. Hello, sad to see the tree come down. But, at least you will have a lot of firewood. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!

  8. That rustic chair is so picturesque. I would love to have that in my backyard alongside my century-old wooden chairs.
