The Week in Review

9/3/17 - Sunday

Met daughter and family at a pizza restaurant in Charleston, IL. Parents were giving granddaughter a tour of the university grounds. Photo courtesy of Wiki Commons.

After the university tour, we met at a coffee shop.

We chose a big round table to accompany 8 people. It was decoupaged with sayings and images. As we were enjoying our coffee, I looked down to see this appetizing image. Not sure who would have thought it was a good idea to place this lovely item on a table where food and drink are served, but it sure gave us a good laugh.

After coffee, we took youngest to the park. He had fun while the rest of us watched. The park has new equipment. Nice!

9/5/17 - Tuesday
Don was looking for someone to do minor repairs to his Harley, so we decided to take Gus for an outing and drove to a repair shop in Lerna. It was 11:30 ish and although the sign said their hours were from 8-4, the place was closed up tight.

Next stop, the Harley Barn. He bought a wrench needed to tighten the shocks and admired a Harley Sportster parked outside.

While he was inside, I snapped a couple of shots of a barn on the other side of the parking lot.

9/6/17 - Wednesday
I won tickets for Cousin J-Bug and me to go to the Green Mill Theater and this was the day. J-Bug picked me up and we chatted all the way up. It was the first time we had ever went on an adventure together, just the two of us. It was so much fun! My sister-in-law, RJ, was there. It was her first outing since hip replacement surgery. It was good to see her out and about.

The show consisted of 2 actors playing different characters and participants from the audience. We were also served lunch which was catered by an Amish restaurant. The food consisted of mashed potatoes, chicken and noodles, green beans, choice of meatloaf, roast beef, or fried chicken, broccoli salad, a roll, and pie for dessert. Tasty.  ...and Christopher Lloyd in his role from Back to the Future.

9/8/17 - Thursday
Nothing interesting. Routine Doc visit and read. I'm currently reading Blood Trail by C.J. Box. If there are fans of the Longmire series on Netflix, these books might interest you. Enjoying this one, and the last one, Endangered, so will most certainly read more.

9/9/17 - Friday
Had a lunch meeting with classmates at Karla's Downhome Diner. We are starting to plan our 50th, count the years, 50th class reunion. We have a venue reserved and a tentative meal plan. We normally have a skit of some sort, but trying to think of something else to do to keep everyone interacting. Any ideas?

910/17 - Saturday
Stopped by the local mall where there just happened to be a car show outside and paranormal booths inside.

Liked this bright orange one. DC seemed to like it, too.

Close up of one of the decals.

I believe one of the paranormal beauties escaped from inside the mall. She had on a pretty dress. Good thing it wasn't a hot day.

Perhaps the car below belongs to her.

Of course, the day wouldn't be complete without checking out the booths. Found this crazed killer. He stared at us as we walked by. Glad he didn't bludgeon us to death with his stick. Looks like he got a few before we passed by.

Below is my pick for bird of the week. Or make that birds of the week. These ducks inhabit our local pond.

For those who may wonder about my week in review post, neither of my children live near me, so this is a good way to let them know what mom is up to. Thanks for wading through the week with me.

HANG IN THERE FLORIDA!

    1. Thank you for remembering Rubbish. Work was very busy and there was a lot of turmoil in my personal life, so took a long break. Things are wonderful right now and since I retired, I can go back to blogging, which I enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

  7. Excellent Betty!!! The whole entire post. Fun, eerie, more fun, playgrounds, ducks...and theater! Lovin' it all.

I'm so happy you shared this with us at I'd Rather B Birdin' this weekend [I'm slow getting around to visiting; very busy still trying to clean up and get fence replaced from hurricane Harvey], so it's slow going online these days.

    Thanks for joining!!

  9. A busy week -- love the ducks and the play (and that you won tickets, even better)... I would have stuck with the cars instead of the paranormal too.
